Beth Hess
About Beth
Beth, a brand strategist known as the “Word Girl,” brings clarity, creativity, and authenticity to her clients’ messaging. Four years after her initial brand photos, Beth felt it was time for a refresh—her business had evolved, her client relationships had deepened, and her approach had grown even more focused on creating open, down-to-earth connections. She wanted a new set of images that reflected where her brand is now and the way she connects with clients: straightforward, real, and always ready to uncover the amazing within each business.
Working with Seshu
Beth connected with Seshu over a year before their photoshoot, coming to trust his approach through conversations about his philosophy. She knew Seshu goes beyond attractive images—he captures the true essence of his clients. Like her work with words, Seshu’s photography uncovers and expresses what makes each person unique.
Before and during the session, Seshu asked thoughtful questions about Beth’s brand and goals, frequently checking if each look, pose, or setting aligned with her vision. Instead of simply asking, “Do you like it?” he would prompt, “Does this say what you want clients to know about you?” By encouraging her to push her expressions and energy, and allowing real-time review, Seshu brought Beth’s personality and brand vision into focus.
The Outcome
The result is a set of brand photos that genuinely reflect Beth’s business and her approach. These images capture the same sense of warmth and authenticity she offers her clients, pairing seamlessly with her messaging. Now, with photos that feel as true as her words, Beth is excited to use these visuals to connect with her audience, inviting potential clients to get to know her in an honest and meaningful way.

Shawn Elizabeth George
About Shawn
Shawn Elizabeth George is a dynamic speaker, author, and cancer survivor whose work bridges business and ministry. She needed images that went beyond the traditional headshot to capture her true self—someone who is authentic, approachable, and deeply connected to her community. Shawn had always felt uneasy in front of the camera, preferring to be behind the scenes. However, she realized that to reach more people and make a meaningful impact, she needed photos that genuinely reflected who she is.
Working with Seshu
Shawn chose Connecticut Headshots because she knew Seshu’s approach was different. Seshu’s deep-rooted involvement in the community and his commitment to capturing real, unfiltered moments made him the ideal photographer for Shawn’s unique needs. Understanding Shawn’s discomfort, Seshu patiently worked with her to create a relaxed and natural environment where she could feel at ease.
Shawn describes him as "authentic and driven," noting how he captures the essence of people without trying to force a certain image. His patience and thoughtful approach made it easier for Shawn to relax and embrace being in front of the camera, allowing her true self to shine through.
The Outcome
The images Seshu created for Shawn weren’t just photographs; they were visual representations of her mission and values. These photos now feature prominently across her website, social media, and promotional materials, helping her connect with her audience in a genuine and impactful way.

Valerie Gordon
Author, Speaker, Coach
About Valerie
When Valerie Gordon, an accomplished author and speaker, launched her own business in 2017, she knew she needed more than just a typical headshot to tell her story. As the Storytelling Strategist, Valerie was already sold on the truth that the stories we put out to the world impact the way people see us and the opportunities we get. And still she was nervous about getting in front of the camera to use visual images to tell the story of her own brand - images that could capture her personality, wit, and the unique voice behind her work. She needed a photographer who could bring out the essence of her brand in a way that felt authentic and engaging.
To promote her book Fire Your Narrator, Valerie knew it was especially important to have promotional images that matched the tone and playfulness of her humorous approach to self help.
Working with Seshu
Her in-home photo shoot was a very collaborative experience, Valerie says. “We both brought ideas, Seshu was patient as I got comfortable in front of the camera, and everything he does has great quality.”
Whether it was a quirky shot with her book perched on her head or candid moments with her dog, Seshu made sure every image told a story—Valerie's story.
The Outcome
Seshu’s keen eye for detail and deep understanding of Valerie’s brand made him the perfect partner for her personal branding. His work gave Valerie a versatile library of images she’s used across her website, social media, and promotions—well beyond the initial book launch. In the end, working with Seshu wasn’t just about photos—it was about helping Valerie share her story in a way that really clicked with her audience. And for The Storytelling Strategist, that made all the difference.
“As a storyteller, I know how important it is to convey your unique personality and assets. It only makes sense that I’d want visual assets that help complete that story.”
